Dermal Filler Dissolving
Dermal fillers can be dissolved by the injection of Hyaluronidaese enzyme into the intended area for dissolve, and takes approximately 1-2 weeks to work.

There are many reasons that require filler to be dissolved. The first is in an emergency in the case of a vascular occlusion to remove the filler to prevent any lasting damage to the skin, infection or allergic reaction. Then there's elective for aesthetic appearance, this may be requested or advised for the following reasons:

-
Over filled

-
The filler has moved over time known as migration

-
Lumps and uneven filler

-
Asymmetrical result

Emergency Dissolve
In an emergency, a patch test will be completed for 10 minutes to ensure that you are not allergic to the hyaluronidase enzyme. A small amount will be injected into one arm, and pure saline into the other. If a reaction occurs you will be sent straight to hospital and the filler will have to be dissolved there to manage your reaction in the best environment possible.

If the patch test caused no reaction, small injections will be injected into the area that requires to be dissolved and you will be monitored for 30 minutes to ensure that everything has gone well.

Elective Dissolve

In the case of an elective dissolve for aesthetic purposes, you will need a consultation with my prescriber and a prescription will be written up for yourselves.

Again a patch test will be completed but left for 30 minutes to monitor for any reaction as this isn't an emergency. Again if a reaction occurs you will be sent to hospital. If no reaction occurs i will continue with injecting the area for dissolve.

It is recommended that you do not touch the area for 6 hours. Any swelling can be reduced by taking an antihistamine, and using cold compress. Arnica cream will be given to reduce the changes of bruising.

Filler treatments can be commenced again after 14 days, within the area dissolved.
